We are a team of lighting designers,
architects and naval engineers.

Founded in 2020, ShipShape is a lighting design
studio, a meeting point of the approaches of the
founders, Keivan, Lorenzo, Luca and Martina.
Our strength is our ability to connect the needs of the
shipyard and the demands of the client,
simplifying processes and delivering a cutting-edge
service.

Founders

 

LORENZO MORTOLA is a naval architect and Chartered Engineer, with a master degree in naval architecture and a master degree in interior design. After two years working experience in an architecture and interior design firm in Milan, in 2011 Lorenzo Joined Gem, a leading architectural firm specialized in the design and project management of cruise ships. Since then, Lorenzo has managed a variety of new buildings and refurbishment projects, focusing primarily on luxury vessels. In 2020 Lorenzo co-founded Shipshape.

 

KEIVAN ESMAEILY worked as electrical engineer in power distribution systems fields for about 2 years. He designed and managed many exterior lighting, architectural lighting, and landscape lighting projects in Iran for 5 years. He moved to Italy to study Master in lighting design and LED technology in Politecnico di Milano in 2016. After graduation, he has been working as a technical lighting designer in Italy specially in naval projects. He is a co-founder in ShipShape lighting

 

MARTINA MONTORSI graduated in Product and Nautical Design at the University of Genoa, and also completed a master degree in lighting design and LED technology at the Politecnico di Milano. Martina started her professional career at Davide Groppi, a renowned Italian lighting maker and in 2017 joined as lighting designer Gem, a leading architectural firm specialized in the design of cruise ships. In 2020 Martina co-founded Shipshape.

 

LUCA MORENI studied Fine Art and worked for years as a scenographer and lighting designer for theatre companies. After the Master in Lighting Design and LED technology at Politecnico di Milano, he joined Barbara Balestreri Lighting Design studio where he worked as a Lighting designer for several worldwide projects, in particular in luxury retail, Art exhibition and heritage areas.

He is a co-founder in ShipShape lighting.
